If a company used an eco-friendly process to make a bag they would rank lower than a company that used recycled materials. The company using recycled materials is making the world less polluted by taking trash away. The eco-friendly company is helping the earth, by processing their products with minimal pollution.
If a company made bags with recycled materials they would rank lower than a company that used upcycled materials. The company using recycled materials is creating a burden on the earth with the recycling process. If the product is upcycled there is less negative impact on the earth.
Some companies use different terminology. Some say recycling, where upcycled might be better word choice. Many times the word ecofriendly is also used where another word might be clearer. So whenever possible, the whole process of making the product is completely evaluated.
